Monday to Friday - 9:00am - 5:30pm.

Closed on Mondays of bank holiday weekends.

The Lending Library at Cork County Library Headquarters is pleased to offer a varied range of books, audio-books and DVDs for borrowing. It is located on floors 1 and 2 of the County Library Building on Carrigrohane Road (next to the County Hall).

We aim to cater for all ages and tastes. Our children's, teen and young adult and adult fiction and non-fiction collections are regularly updated with new and bestseller titles.

This collection is supplemented by an extensive drama collection and also a choral music collection of printed sheet music.

Free internet access is available to members.

A selection of daily and Sunday newspapers is available for reading in the library. Magazines available to read include Hello, Irish Tatler and Woman's Way.

An Adult Book Club meets on the last Thursday of every month.

Various activities are held throughout the year, including school group visits, exhibitions and author visits. The library also participates in the Bealtaine Festival, the Summer Arts Programme and the Children's Books Festival.

    Reference and Local Studies is a specialist department in the County Library. It answers requests daily for information on a wide range of topics, mainly local history, Genealogy and general reference queries. This department has an extensive collection of specialist reference works, encyclopaedias, almanacs, yearbooks, atlases and other reference tools. It is also the County Library's main repository for local history materials, including books, newspapers and maps.


    Reference and Local Studies also houses a number of unique collections, as follows:
