The Major Emergency Plan is a document which underpins our preparedness to deliver a first class response to any disasters that could occur across County Cork. It is a priority of the Council to be constantly prepared to measure up to best international standards in major emergency management.

The purpose of this Plan is to put in place arrangements that will enable the Garda Siochana, the Health Service Executive, and the Local Authority to co-ordinate their efforts whenever a major emergency occurs.

We want to ensure that your life and property are subject to minimised disruption should a major emergency occur, and that those affected receive immediate support.
