Cork County Council are the first local authority in Ireland to roll out a Risk Management System, across all of its departments by contracting a Governance, Risk Management and Compliance software solution company, CalQRisk, lasting four years.

CalQRisk recently won an award for “Excellence in Enterprise Risk Management” from the Public Sector Magazine. Cork County Council is the second largest Local Authority in the Republic of Ireland, and the largest based on geographic area size. The Council has an annual revenue budget of approximately €300m and services a population of 400,000 people, or 141,000 households with current staff numbers total 2,000 approximately, so it is essential that the Council tackle issues such as risk management structures and methodology, cybersecurity, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and much more.
