Anticipation is building across Cork County as representatives from four very different Communities prepare for the Pride of Place Awards Ceremony to be held at Cork City Hall on Saturday 17th November 2018.

Cork County entries this year are:-

•Youghal Tidy Towns,

•Bweeng Community Hall and Sportsfield Commitee,

•Lusitania Museum/Old Head Signal Tower

•West Cork Islands Community Council

The purpose of the Pride of Place Competition is to acknowledge the great work carried out by communities.  Judging for this prestigious, all island competition took place in August over the course of two days, during which representatives from all four locations demonstrated their commitment and contribution to the growth of vibrant and viable communities in their areas.

In wishing the finalists well, Mayor of County Cork Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy said, “I would like to congratulate all the communities involved on their achievements, both on the ground and in making it to the finals.  Cork County Council is immensely proud to work with and support such inspirational communities.  I wish all our entrants the best of luck.”
