The Cork County Mayor’s Mid-Summer Charity Ball 2017 was an outstanding success raising a grand total of €30,000. The Charity Ball was in aid of six very worthy Cork Charities, Cork Association for Autism, Down Syndrome Centre Cork, Cork Simon, Down Syndrome Cork (Field of Dreams), Irish Guide Dogs and Rebel Wheelers, with each charity receiving €5,000.
Speaking at the presentation, former Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Seamus McGrath thanked all who supported the event and went on to say, ‘I am thrilled to be in such a position as to have held an evening where we collected such an astonishing amount of money. This represents the magnificent culture of charity we have here in Cork and I know that this donation will be put toward a phenomenal use. The Charity Ball was a brilliant evening, a great night had by all and to top it off I am now able to present such proceeds to my chosen charities. Charities that I know have touched the lives of so many people and carry out absolutely fantastic work. ’
