Status Level Yellow Rainfall Warning for Cork County

Met Eireann has issued a Status Level Yellow Rainfall Warning for Cork County which is valid from 3.00pm on the 12th January (Friday) to 12.00pm/noon on the 13th January (Saturday).

Heavy rainfall is expected later Friday, overnight and into early Saturday, with falls of 30 to 50 mm expected.

Cork County Council's Severe Weather Assessment Team has convened in response to the weather warning and has assessed the information. Due to current ground saturation levels and the expected heavy rainfall there is a possibility of localised spot flooding with the potential to cause difficulties for motorists.

We would ask motorists to exercise caution due to the possibility of roads being affected by these conditions.

The entire Cork County area is subject to the Level Yellow Rain Warning; however the heaviest rainfall is expected in the West Cork area.
