  • Environmental Awareness Strategy 2011-2015

    The environmental awareness strategy for Cork County is done in consultation with the Strategic Policy Committee for Environment.The underlining desire of this strategy is to raise environmental awareness in the general public, and more specifically target the media, business, industry, educators, youth, community-based groups, and NGOs.The strategy is driven by the Council's priorities as identified in the Corporate, Waste Management, Operational & Litter Management Plans.

    The strategy is implemented by the Environmental Awareness & Research Unit. The 2011-2015 strategy focuses on themes with specific objectives and actions to be undertaken.Environ Awareness Strategy

    The priority sectors covered by this strategy are ;

    1. Waste prevention,

    2. Litter pollution.

    3. Water conservation and water pollution.

    4. Climate change and biodiversity.

    5. Research
