Cork County Council’s Arts Service is inviting schools to apply to participate in Frameworks, a classroom-based education programme. Four Primary schools in County Cork will become temporary custodians of our county art collection and will engage in a programme that will be facilitated by a professional artist.

Cork County Council has a substantial collection of visual art. This civic collection includes works in various media including painting, drawing, print, photography, video, and small-scale three-dimensional work created by emerging and established artists, many of whom are living and working in Cork County.

Students will have an opportunity to create a collaborative artwork with an artist, using the collection artworks as a springboard for creativity. The ambition is that the works from the collection and along with works created by pupils in response will be presented by the participating schools as part of an event for parents and families.

Mayor of County Cork Frank O’Flynn said,

This collection is owned by the people of Cork and as such it is the policy of Cork County Council to make this collection as widely available to the public as possible. It is in this context that we have developed a schools education programme that will enable young people to gain knowledge and engage creatively with work from the collection in a managed programme in the classroom.

The programme is funded by Creative Ireland and will be provided free of charge to all schools.

For further information and to apply please email Creative.Ireland@corkcoco.ie. The deadline for applications is Friday 3rd May 2024 at 3pm.

Fáiltíonn Comhairle Contae Chorcaí roimh iarratais ar Frameworks , clár oideachas rang-bhunaithe.

Tá Seirbhís Ealaíon Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí ag tabhairt cuireadh do scoileanna páirt a ghlacadh i Frameworks , clár oideachais rang-bhunaithe. Beidh ceithre Bhunscoil i gContae Chorcaí ina gcoimeádaithe sealadacha bhailiúchán ealaíne ár gcontae agus glacfaidh páirt i gclár a bheidh á éascú ag ealaíontóir gairmiúil.

Tá bailiúchán suntasach amharc-ealaíne ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí. Tá saothair i meáin éagsúla sa bhailiúchán cathartha lena n-áirítear péinteáil, tarraingt, priontáil, grianghrafadóireacht, físeán agus saothair mionscála thríthoiseacha le healaíontóirí cáiliúla agus atá ag teacht chun cinn, a bhfuil go leor acu ag cur fúthu agus ag obair i gContae Chorcaí.

Beidh an deis ag daltaí saothar comhoibríoch ealaíne a chruthú i gcomhar le healaíontóir, ag úsáid na saothar ón mbailiúchán mar spreagadh dá gcuid cruthaitheachta féin. Táthar ag súil go dtaispeánfaidh na scoileanna a bheidh páirteach na saothair ón mbailiúchán taobh le taobh le saothair na ndaltaí mar chuid d’ócáid do thuismitheoirí agus do theaghlaigh.

Dúirt Méara Chontae Chorcaí Frank O’Flynn,

Is le muintir Chorcaí an bailiúchán seo agus dá bharr sin tá sé mar pholasaí ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí an oiread rochtana agus is féidir a thabhairt don phobal ar an mbailiúchán. Is sa chomhthéacs sin a d’fhorbraíomar clár oideachais scoile a chuirfidh ar chumas daoine óga eolas a chur ar shaothair an bhailiúcháin agus dul i ngleic leo ar bhealach cruthaitheach mar chuid de chlár bainistithe sa seomra ranga.

Tá an clár á mhaoiniú ag Éire Ildánach agus beidh sé saor in aisce do gach scoil.

Le tuilleadh eolais a fháil agus iarratas a dhéanamh, seol ríomhphost chuig Creative.Ireland@corkcoco.ie. Dé hAoine 3 Bealtaine 2024 ag 3i.n. an spriocdháta d’iarratais.
