Ballinglen Foundation Bursary

Cork County Council invites applications for a Bursary Award for a residency at Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 2017 for a two week period.

The Ballinglen Arts Foundation is an Irish non-profit organisation located in the village of Ballycastle on the coast of North County Mayo. Its programmes are designed to support serious artists making important work in ideal, inspiring conditions. This Bursary Award offers visual artists living in County Cork an opportunity to work side by side with other Irish and International artists in this unique setting.

The award will include a fully equipped studio in the purpose built Ballinglen Centre, the support of the Ballinglen staff and the use of a two/three bedroom cottage. It is envisaged that this opportunity will encourage and benefit established and emerging artists in developing their practice.

Eligibility:

  • This bursary is open to practitioners in all visual artforms, currently resident in county Cork.
  • Applicants must be 18yrs+
  • Applicants should show significant achievement in their chosen field. This would normally mean artists should have had one-person shows in reputable galleries. Otherwise the applicant must demonstrate a high degree of promise attested by references or other forms of support from established figures in the arts.
  • Artists who have previously stayed at the Ballinglen Arts foundation may not apply.
