Most of us see stained glass windows in our churches but do we really look at them? How are they made? Who made them? What do they mean? What do they tell us about our past?

Enniskeane Parish with Coppeen Archaeological, Historical and Cultural Society hosts an illustrated talk on church stained glass windows in St. Joseph’s Church, Castletown Kinneigh, on Wed. May 8th at 8pm. The talk will be given by Finola Finlay, an archaeologist and historian with a particular interest in stained glass. She has studied, photographed and recorded many of the stained glass windows in West Cork where she has made her home.

With her husband, Robert Harris, Finola co-authors the blog roaringwaterjournal.com. Her talk will include the history of some of the wonderful windows in many West Cork churches, including in the local churches in Enniskeane Parish. Suggested donation €5, inc teas, free to CAHCS members and children.
