Details: This illustrated talk will help explain the various divisions used in genealogical sources from District Electoral Divisions to Poor Law Unions as well as the importance of understanding them. Before carrying out family history research it is important to understand the various Administrative Divisions which are used across the range of sources from Census returns to Civil records. This talk will help explain the various divisions, from District Electoral Divisions to Poor Law Unions, as well as the importance of understanding them. This illustrated talk will include lots of sources from maps to useful websites.
