Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

LP-1319 & LP-1200 from Lisgriffin Cross to Mallow, Mallow, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 28^th March 2022 to 17.00hrs on Friday 1^st April 2022

(24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Construction of a Cattle Underpass.

Alternative Routes

At Lisgriffin Cross turn left onto the R-580 to Buttevant and then turn right onto the N20 towards Mallow.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-02-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 25^th January 2022. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-3230, Kinsale, Co. Cork – (from junction at Ardbrack School to St. Catherine’s Church).

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on Thursday 24^th February 2022 (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate installation of a new wastewater connection.

Alternative Routes

Traffic approaching Southbound (McDonalds Hotel) – Drivers coming from the L‐3228‐36 will continue straight until the R600 “Pewterhole Cross”, here they will turn left onto the R600 and continue towards Kinsale town (Eastern Road) where they will be instructed to turn left onto Lower Road, then they will continue straight from Lower Road onto High Road.

Local access will be permitted at both junctions for local residents to access Fort View and Ringcurran Rise.

L-2057-0, St Patrick’s Quay, Bandon, Co. Cork – from its junction with Oliver Plunkett Street, to its junctions with St Patrick’s Place.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 20:00hrs on Thursday 24^th February 2022 to 06:00hrs on Friday 25^th February 2022. (Nightly Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate service pipe connection.

Alternative Routes

Southbound traffic intending to traverse St Patrick’s Quay shall divert east onto Glasslinn Road (R586-0), then take the 2^nd road exit at the roundabout onto Bandon Relief Road N71-102, followed onto N71-1018, turn right at the Kilbrittain Road junction onto (N71-1013), at the mini roundabout take the second exit onto New Road (R603-0), follow the road to St Patrick’s Place to approach the closed road from the opposite side.

Local access for Non-Heavy Goods Vehicles only will be maintained via Harte’s Car Park, with temporary egress via Market Quay only.
