Tá sé mar aidhm ealaíontóir a choimisiúnú le dráma Gaeilge a dhéanamh a bheidh inrochtana agus siamsúil do pháistí suas go 12 bliana d’aois. Views Sought on Cork County Development Plan

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Gillian Coughlan is encouraging individuals and groups to have their say on the future development of the county with the publication of the Proposed Amendments to the Draft County Development Plan. This is the last opportunity for the people of County Cork to make submissions on the plan which comes into effect in June.

“On behalf of the people of Cork County I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ashling Murphy.  I am truly shocked by such an act of violence and can only imagine the sense of loss that is currently being experienced across the community in Tullamore and County Offaly.  My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved Ashling.  As a fellow teacher and on a personal level I would like to offer my condolences to everyone who has been impacted by this tragedy. Water Refill Stations to be Installed at 15 Schools in County Cork

A Cork County Council initiative is hoping to see thousands of plastic bottles removed from schools each week. Contactless water refill stations will be installed at 15 schools as part of efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste, allowing students and teachers to fill their reusable bottles with filtered water. It is part of a Cork County Council competition that was first launched in 2020. Ten primary and five secondary schools have been announced as the latest winners bringing the total number of successful schools to 31. The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr.

Call for Writer or Poet to Create Children’s Book for The Rainbow Library

Cork County Council is working with Pop Up Projects to support a writer in creating greater inclusivity, with a children’s book featuring LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences. The book will form part of The Rainbow Library, an Ireland and UK initiative, which aims to have underrepresented characters and stories included in children’s books. The project is supported by Creative Ireland.

Significant Funding Awarded for Town Regeneration Projects in County Cork

Cork County Council has been granted almost €2 million in funding for rural regeneration projects in Fermoy and Macroom. The money will be used to rejuvenate the town centres, combat dereliction and drive economic growth. The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has announced €21.5 million for 27 projects across the country under the Rural Regeneration Development Fund (RRDF).
