Dursey Island Cable Car Reopens following €1.6 million Upgrade
The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins and Chief Executive of Cork County Council Tim Lucey have cut the ribbon marking the reopening of Ireland’s only cable car service, and the only cable car in Europe that crosses open seawater, following an extensive €1.6m upgrade.

A recent structural review of the infrastructure of the Dursey Cable car has highlighted some essential works that must be carried out in the short term. These works are deemed essential for the cable car to continue in service.
Dursey Cable Car Temporarily Closed
Dursey Cable Car remains closed due to current weather conditions. The Cable Car will not operate once wind speeds exceed 30 knots/55.5km per hour and will return to operation only when wind speeds permit and following inspection if necessary.
