AIB Mallow hosted a successful Women in Business seminar on Tuesday 28th May and there was a strong attendance among businesswomen from the greater Mallow area. The event was held in partnership with Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West. The title of the event was “Lead yourself, Lead your business, Lead your future” and focused on planning and leadership to support female entrepreneurs in starting out or growing their business.

There were 3 key speakers at the event.  Joan Kelleher from Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West provided an in depth overview of the support that is available from Local Enterprise Office for SMEs. Pedro Angulo Head of Leadership Development in AIB presented on the importance of having the key skills to being a successful Leader.  Liz Gavin from Eur Digital Village shared her story with the audience on how she started out in Business and became a successful entrepreneur.

AIB Mallow Branch Manager Sinead O Connor said “Feedback from the event has been excellent. We found that attendees wanted coaching and mentoring in a way that helped them make the next steps in growing their business. All 3 speakers gave fantastic presentations on the night and attendees picked up a lot of tips from the event which will be beneficial in  moving  their businesses forward”.

During the event Sinead O’Connor also spoke about the support that is available to SMEs through AIB in branch or online at www.aib.ie. Sinead said “I would encourage women starting out or established in business to come and talk to us so that we can give them the right guidance and advice”.
