Cork County Council Christmas Opening Hours 2022

Cork County Council’s offices are closed on 26th, 27th, 28th December and 2nd January.

Offices will be open as normal on December 29th and 30th.

Housing

Cork County Council’s offices are closed from 24th to 28th December 2022 and 31st December to 2nd January 2023. If you are a Council tenant and your property is in need of emergency repair or if you require access to homeless services please ring the Council’s out of hours emergency number (021)-4800048 This service is for emergencies only.

Motor Tax

Cork County Council’s Motor Tax Office and our dedicated Customer Contact Centre phone service on the following number (021) 4544566 will be closed on 26th, 27th and 28th of December and 2nd of January. The Motor Tax Office will be open by appointment on the 29th and 30th December and from the 3rd January.

Appointments can be made by accessing our online booking system at www.yourcouncil.ie. You can also contact our Customer Contact Centre at (021) 4544566 on the 29th and 30th of December and from the 3rd January on to make an appointment.

You can avail of our postal service by downloading a motor tax form from the motor tax section of this website and posting it to The Cork Motor Tax Office, Model Farm Road, Cork. T12XP80.

Alternatively, you can visit Motor Tax Online throughout the Christmas period at www.motortax.ie for a range of services including Motor Tax renewals and Statutory Off Road Declarations. Your pin number will be the last six digits of the serial number on your Vehicle Registration Certificate.

Civic Amenity Sites/Recycling Centres

Cork County Council are providing a free Christmas tree drop off service at our civic amenity sites up to the 31st of January 2023. Please note normal charges will apply to other materials brought for recycling/disposal.

All of our sites accept payment by credit/debit card and cash.

Libraries

The following libraries close on Friday 23rd and reopen on Thursday 29th December:

Bandon, Carrigaline, Macroom, Midleton, Fermoy, Midleton, Mitchelstown, Mallow, Library H.Q, Lending, Local Studies.

The following libraries close on Friday 23rd and reopen on Tuesday January 3rd:

Skibbereen, Schull, Bantry, Castletownbere, Clonakilty, Dunmanway, Kinsale, Charleville, Sherkin Island, Leabharlann Bhaile Bhuirne, Cobh, Passage West, Youghal, Millstreet, Newmarket, Kanturk and mobile libraries.

Leabharlann Oileán Chléire will close on Friday 23rd and reopen on Wednesday January 4th.

Swimming Pools

Fermoy Leisure Centre will remain closed on 23rd - 26th December 2022 and 1st of January 2023.
