Road Works Speed Limit Order – County Cork N22 Baile Bhuirne Macroom Road Development

Notice is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, as amended, and in the interests of road safety, Cork County Council has made a Road Works Speed Limit Order as detailed below:

  • New speed limit (KPH): 100km/h
  • Temporary speed limit to apply (KPH): 60km/h

Location where temporary speed limit is to apply:

  • Road Location – N22 Tonn Láin, Baile Mhic Íre, Co. Cork.
  • On the westbound carriageway of the new dual carriageway, from a point approximately 700m in advance of the Tonn Láin junction, to a point where the N22 intersects with the L-3409 (from Easting 522853, Northing 576026 to Easting 522373, Northing 576371).

Period for which temporary speed limit will apply: From Friday 11th August 2023 to Friday 27th October, 2023 or such earlier date as may be determined by Cork County Council.

The purpose of the temporary speed limit is to facilitate the safety of roadworkers and traffic during the duration of works on the N22 Baile Bhuirne Macroom Road Development.

Representations on this matter may be made in writing to Administrative Officer, Cork National Roads Office, Cork County Council, Richmond, Glanmire, Cork.
