Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-5020 Knockacummer and Knockacluggin, Newmarket, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 8:00hrs on Monday 13th March 2023 to 18:00hrs on Friday12th May 2023

(24hr Closure.)

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate installation of new watermain.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling on the L-5020 from the R576 Meelin direction should divert left at Cummer Crossroads onto the L-5018.  Continue on the L-5018 to T-Junction with R576 (Rockchapel – Newmarket Road).  Turn right onto the R576 signposted Newmarket. Continue on the R576 to Coolagh Bridge and turn right onto the R578 signposted Ballydesmond and turn right almost immediately onto the L-1013 (Commons Road). Continue on the L-1013 and rejoin the L-5020.

 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-13-2023, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 14th February 2023.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
