Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the periods and reason specified below:
International Rally of the Lakes 2023

Stage 2 & 5 Healy Pass (08:15hrs to 14:45hrs)
Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
The R-574-0 from its junction with the R-572-162 at Adrigole Bridge to its junction with the L-8960-0 at Inchintaglin. The R-574-15 from its junction with the L-8960-0 at Inchintaglin to its junction with the L-95743-5 at Inchintaglin. The R-574-34 from its junction with the L-95743-5 at Inchintaglin to the County bounds at Inchintaglin.
Roads Closed: R-574-0, R-574-15, R-574-34.
Roads Affected: L-95743-5, L-95743-6, L95743-3, L-95743-1, L-95743-2, L8960-0, L-89601-0.
Alternative Routes
To Kenmare via R-572 and R-571 or via R-572 and N-71.
Stage 3 & 6 Cods Head (09.50 to 12:55 & 13:10 to 16:30)

The L-4904-50 from its junction with the R-572-433 at Cloghane Lower to its junction with the L-49044-0 at Knockroe West. The L-4904-21 from its junction with the L-49044-0 at Knockroe West to its junction with the L-8912-0 at Kealoge. The L-4904-0 from its junction with the L-8912-0 at Kealoge to its junction with the R-575-53 at Cloan. The R-575-53 from its junction with the L-4904-0 at Cloan to its junction with the L-95753-3 at Reentrusk. The R-575-86 from its junction with the L-95753-3 at Reentrusk to its junction with the L-95753-5 at Reentrusk. The R-575-100 with its junction with the L-95753-5 at Reentrusk to its junction with the L-8917-0 at Caherkeen. The R-575-127 from its junction with the L-8917-0 at Caherkeen to its junction with the L-89161-0 at Urhin.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

The L-4910-6 from its junction with the L-4910-0 at Faunkill and the Woods to its junction with the L-49103-0 at Gortgarriff. The L-4910-28 from its junction with the L-49103-0 at Gortgarriff to its junction with the L8927-0 at Kilcatherine. The L-4910-74 from its junction with the L-8927-0 at Kilcatherine to its terminus at Kilcatherine. The L-4910-74 from its commencement at Kilcatherine to its junction with the L-4912-0 at Ardgroom Inward. The L-4911-27 from its junction with the L4912-0 at Ardgroom Inward to its junction with the L-49112-0 at Ardgroom Inward. The L-4911-53 from its junction with the L-49112-0 at Ardgroom Inward to its junction with the R-571 at Ardgroom Outward.

Eyeries to Kenmare via R-571.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
No alternative route for roads closed and affected.

Stage 13 & 15 Gortnagane (12:15hrs to 17.50hrs)
Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L-1130 and L-1133 Caherbarnagh, Co. Cork – from County Boundary to Hollymount School.
Alternative Routes
Traffic from Caherbarnagh travelling to Rathmore should travel on the L-1130 as far as Crohigs’s Cross. There vehicles should turn left on the L-5171 towards Ballydaly. At Ballydaly Cross, traffic should turn left onto the R582 and continue onto Rathmore.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-43-2023 not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 5th April 2023. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
In addition, it is proposed to close all adjoining public roads for a distance of 205 metres from the junctions with the roads listed above
