Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

N22 Macroom, Co. Cork – from Coolcower to temporary roundabout at Carrigaphooca.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 09.00hrs on Tuesday 8th August 2023 to 11.00hrs on Friday 11th August 2023 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Removal of the Temporary Roundabout at Carrigaphooca.

Alternative Routes

Eastbound Traffic: At Carrigaphooca follow the R-618 (old N22) east through Macroom Town to Coolcower.  The same route applies in reverse for westbound traffic.

Northbound traffic to Millstreet: at Coolcower follow the R-618 (old N22) to its junction with the R-582 and follow the R-582 north.  This route also applies in reverse for southbound traffic from Millstreet.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-105-2023, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 20th June, 2023.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
