Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below: 

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-6522-0 Graball Bay Road, Crosshaven, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 07:00hrs on Monday 23rd October 2023 to 19:00hrs on Thursday 29th February 2024.  (24hr Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate installation of Foul and Storm drainage network, Water mains installation and construction of new pavement upon completion.

Alternative Routes

Traffic on the Western side of closed section wishing to access Camden Road (L-2499-0) should utilize temporary road that will be constructed prior to closure.  They should proceed in a Southerly Direction along this temporary road to its’ junction with Church Bay Road (L-2500-0) East of St. Patricks Graveyard, they should then turn right and proceed in a Westerly Direction.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-180-2023, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 27th September 2023.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-6989 Knockraha East Road, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 06:00hrs on Tuesday 31st October 2023 to 18:00hrs on Friday 15th December 2023 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the installation of ducting as part of the Celtic Interconnector Project.

Alternative Routes

Driving from the East towards Knocrkara along the L-2966 at Pigeon Hill continue on this road until the Crossroads with the L-6990 turn right towards Glenmore stores, continue on this road until the T  junction with the L-2964, then turn right.

The diversion route is the same in reverse.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-152-2023, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 27th September 2023.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-7634-6 Garranes, Carrigtohill, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 06:00hrs on Monday 6th November 2023 to 18:00hrs on Friday 8th December 2023.  (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the installation of ducting as part of the Celtic Interconnector Project.

Alternative Routes

As you approach the Closure from the Leamlara Road L-3606-23 continue straight to Leamlara take the left turn at the crossroads on to the L-3604 continue until you come to the T Junction with the L-7609 Ballynabrannagh West, turn Left and continue to the cross roads with the L-2966 Pigeonhill, turn left and continue along this road to Garranes.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
