Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-2051-0, Bridge Street and L-2055-0, Bridge Lane (Part – from its junction with South Main Street to its junction with Market Quay), Bandon, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs on Monday 15th January 2024 to 20:00hrs on Monday 20th May 2024. (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate road and footpath reconstruction.
Alternative Routes
Bridge Lane: Traffic intending to access Bridge Lane from South Main Street, shall continue ahead onto Pearse Street (R-603-0), turn right onto L-2057-0 towards St Patrick’s Quay, turn right onto L-2055-0 to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
Traffic intending to access Bridge Lane from the Market Quay junction, shall divert south-west along St Patrick’s Quay (L-2057-0), turn right onto Market Street(R603-0) and then turn right onto South Main Street to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
Bridge Street: Traffic intending to access Bridge Street from South Main Street, shall continue ahead onto Pearse Street (R603-0), turn left onto St Finbarr Place (R603-0 and R586-0), then turn left onto MacSwiney Quay (L-2050-0) to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
Traffic intending to access Bridge Street from McSwiney Quay, shall divert west along McSwiney Quay (L-2050-0), turn left onto Weir Street (L-2050-0), and turn left onto South Main Street (L2021-31 and then R603-0), follow the road to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
Pedestrian access will be maintained along the street only.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-205-2023, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 22nd November 2023. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-4711-0 Caherdaniel, Bantry/Castledonovan Road, Bantry, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 to 19:00hrs on Friday 2nd February 2024. (Daily Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Installation of new watermain.
Alternative Routes
Continue onto the N-71 towards Bantry Town Centre, turn right onto L-4754 New Street, then continue onto L-4754, Bridge Street, then onto L-4752 Chapel Street. Continue onto the L-4709 towards Ardnageehy and then turn left onto the L-4712, before joining the L-4711-26.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 18th December 2023 to 18:00hrs on Thursday 21st December 2023. (24hr Closure)
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Install a reducing valve on the new watermain.
Alternative Routes
Continue on the L-2998 towards Dunkettle. At the new roundabout, continue straight onto L-3004 (Old N-25) continue to Johnstown park and turn left on to the L-2970.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
