ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
N71 – Halfway, Co. Cork – from the Halfway roundabout to its junction with the L-2257-0/L2264 at Rearour (the turn off for Cork Airport/Ringaskiddy).

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08.00hrs to 18.30hrs on Sunday 10th April 2022. (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Motorcycle Drag Race.

Alternative Routes
Traffic heading east on the N71 wishing to access locations North of the closed area should turn left at the Halfway Roundabout on to the L-2231-0 and proceed in an easterly direction to its junction with the L-2557, turn left and proceed to join the N71.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-26-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 9th March 2022. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
