TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-2225-36 Old Abbey Road – South of Jimmy’s Cross, Waterfall, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08.00hrs on Monday 27th June 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 15th July 2022.

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Installation of Watermain.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling eastwards and wishing to access locations south of the closed section of roadway should proceed along L-2224-0 in an easterly direction to its junction with L-2230-56 Waterfall Road, turn right and proceed in a southerly direction to Abbeybridge.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-37-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 22nd March 2022. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

R630-6 Whitegate Road, Ballinacurra, Midleton, Co. Cork – (at Loughatalia and Rosehill, Midleton).
Period of Proposed Closure
From 09.00hrs on Wednesday 6th April 2022 to 17.00hrs on Friday 8th April 2022

Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing from Loughatalia, Midleton to Rosehill, Ballinacurra.
Alternative Routes
Northbound traffic to Midleton shall divert Eastwards at Bawnard Crossroads onto the L-3629 (Downey’s Road), then turning left onto the R629 at Bowles gate and onward to Ballinacurra Village to rejoin with the R630 at Ballinacurra grotto.
Southbound traffic to Saleen/Rostellan/Aghada/ Whitegate areas shall divert onto the R629 at Ballinacurra grotto and continue to Cloyne Village turning right at Cloyne Cross onto the R631 and continuing onward to rejoin the R630 at Whitewell Cross.
Right turns onto Downey’s Road from the R629 will be restricted to local access only to Bawnard and East Ferry areas.
Local access will be maintained to the Loughatalia and Rosehill areas throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

To facilitate Installation of Watermain.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling on L-2230-80 wishing to access locations west of proposed closed section of roadway should proceed in a southerly direction along L-2230-80 to its junction with L-2225-36 turn right and proceeding in a northerly direction to Jimmy’s Cross.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

To facilitate Installation of Watermain.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling eastwards on L-6279 should divert on to L-6284 and proceed in a southerly direction to Corran Cross, turn left on to L-2330 towards Abbeybridge, turn left on to L-2225 and proceed to Jimmy’s Cross.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
