Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L3658, Aghada, Co. Cork – (locally known as Heartbreak Hill) from Lower Aghada Village to the top of Heartbreak Hill.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 1st August 2022 to 18.00hrs on Saturday 27th August 2022. (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Installation of new sewer main.

Alternative Routes

From the R630 at Lower Aghada Village divert Via L3652-0 to L3651-0 Church Road, Aghada to Upper Aghada Village.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-44-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 19th April 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 15th August 2022 to 18.00hrs on Saturday 24th September 2022 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Installation of new sewer main.

Alternative Routes

Via R630 at Whitegate Village divert to L3648 Careystown Hill to 3 Cross Roads at Upper Aghada Village to L7664 to 3 Cross Roads, Ballnookery.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-45-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 19th April 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
