TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-4011-19 (Part of) Twohigs Hill, Clonakilty, Co. Cork - from its junction with the L-4010-61 & L-8043-25 at Causeway Crossroads to its junction with the L-8040-0 & L-8041-0 at Caher Four Crossroads via Pallas, Brittas, Garrymore and Caher.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on Sunday 18th September, 2022 (one day only).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate a Twohigs Hill Motorcycle Race.

Alternative Routes

Southbound Traffic - Traffic coming from Clonakilty will be diverted left at Causeway Crossroads onto the L-4010 via Drombeg, Lonagh, Rineen, Muckruss, Dunmore and Duneen as far as Mountain Common Crossroads where traffic can continue on towards Ardfield Village or turn right onto the L-8040-0 and rejoin the L-4011-19 at Caher Crossroads.

Northbound Traffic - Traffic coming from Ardfield will be diverted left at Caher Four Crossroads onto the L-8041-0 to Brittas South Cross turning left onto the L-8027-49. At Pallas Cross West follow the L-8044-0 and turn right onto the L-8043-0 to Garranagoleen Cross, right onto the L-8043-25 to rejoin the L-4011-19 at Causeway Crossroads.

The stated diversion routes are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-142-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 31st August, 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs (Daily) from Monday 3rd October, 2022 to Friday 14th October, 2022

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Demolition of Building/Structures Close to the Edge of the Public Road.

Alternative Routes

From Marino Street proceed along Glengarriff Road (N71) as far as George’s Row (L-4746-0). Turn left onto George’s Row. From George’s Row turn left onto Old Barrack Road (L-4754-0). End of detour

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

To facilitate Filming for Television Series.

Alternative Routes

Via the L4227-0 Promenade and the L4221-51 Main St, Union Hall.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

To facilitate Filming for Television Series.

Alternative Routes

There is no alternative route available as it is a cul-de-sac road.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Via R597 through Glandore Village.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
