TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the periods and reasons specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R594-34 (Part of) Caheragh Village, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 13:00hrs to 18.00hrs on Sunday, 9th October 2022 (one day only).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Vintage Threshing Festival.

Alternative Routes

From Bantry - divert east onto L-8737-0, L8280-0 and L-4233-0 to rejoin with R594. From Skibbereen - divert west onto L-8730, L-8731, L-8733 and L8734 to rejoin the R594.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure. 

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-156-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday, 7th September 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the periods and reasons specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

Closure 1 TRC 152-2022 – L-4021-0 (part), Timoleague Village, Co. Cork – from adjacent to the Centra Shop to Ballinadroum Cross Roads.

Closure 2 TRC 160-2022 – L-4021-0 (part), Timoleague Village, Co. Cork – from adjacent to the Centra Shop to Ballinadroum Cross Roads.

Periods of Proposed Closure 

Closure 1 TRC 152-2022 – From 07.00hrs on Monday 26th September, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 7th October, 2022. (24hr Closure).

Closure 2 TRC 160-2022 – From 18.00hrs on Friday 7th October, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 14th October, 2022. (24hr Closure).

Reasons for Proposed Closure

Closure 1 TRC 152-2022 – To facilitate Installation of a rising main.

Closure 2 TRC 160-2022 – To facilitate Raising of the road level to reduce the incidence of flooding.

Alternative Routes

Closures 1 & 2

Heavy Goods Vehicles approaching the road closure from the village side shall divert east along the L-5046-1, then turn right onto the R601-0, follow onto R601-31 to Courtmacsherry, then take L-4023-31, L-4023-25, L-4023-0 and L-4018-61 passing Lislevane, turn right at School House Cross onto L-4021-25, follow the road to approach the closed road from the opposite side.

Non-Heavy Goods Vehicles approaching the road closure from the village side shall divert north-west along L-4021-0, turn left onto R600-453, turn left onto L-80982-0 to approach the closed road from the opposite side.

Both stated diversions are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-152-2022/TRC 160-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday7th September 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-8061-0 (Part) Lisselane, Clonakilty, Co. Cork - near Jones Bridge Chip Dump.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08.00hrs on Monday 3rd October, 2022 to 18.00hrs on Friday 7th October, 2022.

(24hr Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Installation of a New Watermain.

Alternative Routes

On the N71, coming from the east/Ballinascarthy side continue west on N71.  At Clonakilty Technology Park turn right/north on to L-4032 and follow to the first crossroads in Shannonvale Village(Phair’s Pub).  Turn right on to L-4031 and travel north to first four crossroads(Big Cross) and turn right/south on to L-8061.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

L-5789 (Section of), Kill-Saint Anne, Castlelyons, Co. Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs on Monday 19th September 2022.  (Daily Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate a stationary crane and the lifting of Telecom infrastructure from the public road into a site.

Alternative Routes

For traffic heading North East, divert east via the L-5788-6 and North via the L-5790-10 via Castlelyons Graveyard.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-148-2022, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 6th September 2022.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
