Proposed Traffic Calming Works on the R633-0 Bog Road (Ballyvergan East, Kennel, Monearmore), Youghal, Co. Cork

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended), Cork County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out traffic calming works on the R633-0 Bog Road (Ballyvergan East, Kennel, Monearmore), Youghal, Co. Cork.

The works will involve:

  • installation of uncontrolled pedestrian/cycleway crossing at Greenway crossing point
  • installation of alternative texture surface 
  • anti-skid surface on approach to the crossing point
  • speed indicator feedback signs 
  • safety barrier replacement  
  • road markings and signage
  • hard and soft landscaping and
  • all associated works.

Drawings and particulars of the proposed works will be available for inspection from Friday 5th April 2024 until Friday 3rd May 2024:

  1. Below in the 'Document Summary' Section, or;
  2. at Cork County Council’s Offices, East Cork Municipal District, Mall House, 29 Friar Street, Youghal, Co. Cork, P36 Y894 between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.  

Submissions or observations relating to the proposed works may be made:

  • in writing to: Senior Engineer, Capital Programme Implementation Unit, Floor 11, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork. T12 R2NC. 

The deadline for receipt of submissions and observations is 5:00pm on Friday 3rd May 2024.

Please include the Section 38 project title (as per the above notice) on all submissions and observations sent to Cork County Council relating to the proposed works. It should be noted that the Freedom of Information Act applies to all records held by Cork County Council.
