Young Filmmakers Take Centre Stage at Gala Screening in Cork County Hall

The 2023 Gala Screening Event for Cork Young Filmmakers was recently held at Cork County Hall. Hosted by Cork Young Filmmakers and Cork Film Centre with the support of Cork County Council and SECAD, the highly anticipated event celebrated a year long journey of filmmaking with young people from County Cork.

Draft Skibbereen Town Centre First Regeneration Plan goes on Display

A community display of Skibbereen’s draft Town Centre First Regeneration Plan in will be held on Wednesday December 13th at Skibbereen Town Hall. The event will be hosted by consultants Cunnane Stratton Reynolds and A Playful City, supported by Cork County Council as well as members of the Skibbereen Town Team.

'From The Well' Short Story Competition 2024

Cork County Council Library and Arts Service is accepting submissions to the From the Well Short Story competition 2024. The competition invites entries from writers aged 18 and over who are registered members of any library. From the Well is a long standing short story anthology published annually by Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service.

Victoria Kennefick announced as Cork County Council Writer in Residence

Cork County Council are excited to announce the appointment of award-winning poet, Victoria Kennefick to the position of writer in residence for a ten-month period beginning this December. The writer in residence collaborates with communities in the county, improving access to literature and creative writing workshops.
