Bantry Flood Relief Scheme Reaches Significant Milestone

Members of the public are being invited to have their say on the emerging options for the Flood Relief Scheme for Bantry town and surrounding areas. A series of flood mitigation options have been developed following extensive investigations.

69 Cork County Schools Receive Green Flag Award

69 schools from Cork County have been awarded Green Flags as part of An Taisce’s Green Schools Programme. The primary and secondary schools were celebrated for their achievements under themes of litter and waste, biodiversity, energy, global citizenship and the marine environment amongst others.

Contract Signed for Construction of 16 Social Housing Units in Macroom

Cork County Council has signed a contract with J.D. Buckley Construction Ltd. for the development of 16 social housing units at Sleaveen East, Macroom, Co. Cork. The new homes will consist of a mix of four 2-bedroom townhouses, ten 1-bedroom apartments and two 2-bedroom apartments. The total cost of the scheme is expected to be in the region of €3.3m ex VAT. 

Cork County Council is delighted to announce the launch of a new book on the history of Bantry Library to coincide with the building’s 50th anniversary. Bantry Library first opened to the public in 1974 and is of considerable historical significance from a town and architectural perspective.

Cork County Council is delighted to announce the launch of a new book on the history of Bantry Library to coincide with the building’s 50th anniversary. Bantry Library first opened to the public in 1974 and is of considerable historical significance from a town and architectural perspective.
