Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service is inviting everyone to take part in ‘Ireland Reads’, a campaign to get the whole country reading during February, in the lead up to a National Day of Reading on Saturday, the 22nd of February. 

Cork County Council has announced funding of over €166,000 for 123 artists and arts organisations through its 2025 Arts Grants.

A community leader from Castletownbere and a group providing an inclusive environment for people of all abilities to participate in sports have received the top awards at the 12th Annual Mayor’s Community Awards in Cork County Hall.  

Cork County Council has published the final map for 2025 that show lands in County Cork which will be subject to the new Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT) in 2025. Landowners are encouraged to check the map. 

Author and mindfulness coach Marie O’Halloran has taken up the role of Cork County Council’s ‘Reader in Residence’ for 2025, working with pupils in Charleville CBS Boys School and Doneraile National School to nurture a love of reading.

Cork artist collective ‘inter_site’ will transform the top two floors of Cork County Hall as part of their ‘⌥ertigo, A Crescendo’ exhibition opening this week. The exhibition takes place from the Friday the 7th to Sunday the 9th of February 2025 between 5:00pm and 8:00pm, advance booking is required. 

As part of his Unbroken Songs Tour 2025, Cork County Council will welcome Jack Lukeman to Skibbereen Town Hall on Saturday, the 22nd of March.

Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service is accepting submissions to the ‘From the Well’ Short Story competition 2025.
