Arts Funding Opportunities

Cork County Council supports artists, schools, and arts and community organisations in the Cork County administrative area annually through the following grant assistance schemes:

  1. ARTS GRANT SCHEME

The Cork County Council Arts Grant Scheme provides financial or other assistance to individuals and organisations engaged in the presentation and promotion of arts activities or events in Cork County.

The Arts Grant Scheme is open to new or established arts groups, artists, festivals or other groups wishing to undertake creative artistic activity in any artform in the Cork County Council administrative area.

  1. ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS SCHEME

The Artists in Schools Scheme enables primary and post-primary students and teaching staff to work collaboratively with an artist working in any artform on a creative project.

All Department of Education and Skills-recognised primary and post-primary schools and Youthreach centres in Cork County are eligible to apply.

  1. NA hEALAÍONA ATÁ BUNAITHE AR GHAEILGE / IRISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Cork County Council invites proposals from individual artists, professional arts organisations, festivals and Voluntary arts groups for Irish language-based arts events, projects or activities.

The aim of this funding strand is to support the creation of new work or the promotion of an arts event, project or activity that is Irish language based.

  1. BURSARY AND RESIDENCY SCHEMES 

The Bursary and Residency Schemes are open to practicing artists currently living in Cork County Council’s administrative area.

A)    ARTISTS’ CREATIVE BURSARY 

This scheme aims to support the creative development of new work by practicing artists normally living in the Cork County administrative area. Artist may apply for funding for the creation of a specific work or for a period of research for a new project; or a combination of both.

B)    INTERNATIONAL TOURING AND EXHIBITION

The International Touring and Exhibition Bursary Award provides financial assistance to artists to perform or exhibit their work internationally. Only practicing artists based in Cork county are eligible to apply.

C)    TYRONE GUTHRIE CENTRE BURSARY

Cork County Council provides two bursaries each year to undertake a two week working period at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan. Artists working in any discipline and currently resident in Cork county are eligible to apply.

D)    BALLINGLEN ARTS FOUNDATION BURSARY

Cork County Council provides one bursary each year for an artist to undertake a two week residency at Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Co. Mayo. Artists working in any discipline and currently resident in Cork county are eligible to apply.

F) CORK COUNTY COUNCIL /CENTRE CULTUREL IRLANDAIS RESIDENCY (separate application through CCI)

Cork County Council supports a 1-month residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris each year for a practicing artist of any discipline based in the county of Cork.
