MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OPERATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT, EAST CORK MUNICIPAL DISTRICT.

DEVELOPMENT UNDER SECTION 179 OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT, 2000 (AS AMENDED) AND PART 8 OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS

2001 (AS AMENDED).

NOTICE is hereby given that Cork County Council, in partnership with Killeagh (Ardagh and Dangan) Parish and Killeagh Community Car Park Committee, proposes to carry out the following development:

CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC CAR PARK.

Location of Proposed Development:

On land adjoining and within the curtilage of the Church of

St. John the Baptist R.C. Church (formerly known as St. John and St. Vergilius), which is a protected structure (R.P.S. No. 407) on the Inch/Mount Uniacke Road (L-7905-0), Killeagh, County Cork.

Nature and Extent of Proposed Development:

The proposed development is the construction of a public car park providing 34 parking spaces, including 6 mobility access spaces. The proposed works will involve:

(a)          The setting out and use of the land as a public car park.

(b)          The creation of two vehicular entrances/exits in the existing boundary wall.

(c)           The lowering of the height of part of the boundary wall from 1.7m to 1m to provide sight lines at entrances/exits.

(d)          New footpath link to Church footpath (internally).

(e)          Landscaping on western and southern site boundaries.

(f)           Lighting within the car park.

(g)          Drainage works within the car park.

(h)          Lining of parking spaces and all ancillary site works.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection and/or purchase at a fee of E15 per set from Thursday the 11th of July, 2019, up to and including Thursday the 8th of August, 2019, at the Municipal District Office, Midleton Lodge,Youghal Road, Midleton, Co. Cork, from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., on each day during which the said offices are open for the transaction of business and online below.

Extension and Alterations to Skibbereen Town Hall

Location:
The proposed development will be carried out on lands in North Street.
In the Townlands of Gortnaclohy.

Nature and Extent of Proposed Development:
The proposed development comprises the following infrastructure projects or elements:

  • Extension and alterations to Skibbereen Town Hall, North Street, Gortnaclohy, Skibbereen. The extension is to comprise a glass fronted, flat-roofed structure on the south side of the building, facing on to The Square, containing a foyer and an accessible W.C. The alterations are to comprise a change of layout to the existing ground floor W.C. area to create new male and female W.C.’s and a ramped access connecting the new extension to the existing building.
  • The above property is a protected structure recorded in the 2009 – 2015 Skibbereen Town Development Plan (ref: 049 North Street ‘The Town Hall’)

These documents are available for inspection from January 10th, 2019 up to and including February 8th, 2019.

Proposed Development

The subject of this Part 8 application is the development of a greenway and related ancillary works from the environs of Midleton Train Station, Midleton, County Cork to the disused Youghal Train Station, Youghal, County Cork within the townlands of Townparks (Imokilly By), Broomfield East, Park North, Killeagh, Roxborough, Clashduff, Stumphill, Ballynascarty, Kilmountain, Ballycrenane Beg, Mogeely, Carrignashinny, Garranejames, Ballyquirk, Clashdermot West, Mountbell, Lisglasheen, Moanlahan, Lagile, Ballymakeagh More, Finisk, (ED Clonpriest), Burges Lower, Inchiquin, Gortaroo, Coolnacloghafinna, Coolaha, Beanfield, Ballyvergan West, Kennel, Ballyvergan East, Colerenagh, Summerfield, Dysart, Claycastle, Williamstown, County Cork.  

The proposed development of the greenway incorporates the following principal features: vegetation and site clearance; provision of a sealed surface path with a desirable maximum width of 4m and a general minimum width of 3m; provision of a boardwalk; provision of car parking facilities adjoining Midleton Train Station and adjoining the former railway stations at Mogeely, Killeagh and Youghal; provision of agricultural crossings; provision of boundary fencing, walls and railings;  repair/replacement and remedial works to bridges, culverts and drains; provision of ducting; provision of traffic calming and safety measures at road crossings; construction access and temporary construction compounds; provision of signage, seating, cycle stands, markings and all delineation works, landscaping and all ancillary development and associated accommodation works. The development consists of works within the curtilage of Protected Structures: RPS No. 5 (Townparks  (Imokilly By)); RPS No. 3003, RPS No. 3004 and RPS No. 3036 (Williamstown).  

This application is made under Section179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended).
