Beaches

Ballinamona Beach is part of a line of beaches from Silver Strand on edge of Ballycotton Village.

Oileán Chléire (Cape Clear Island) has an enviable location – right on the cusp of the continental shelf.

Green Coast Silver Strand is a beautiful sandy beach with magnificent views of Cape Clear Island and the Atlantic.

Other Monitored Water - Red Strand is Green Flag Beach located in a horseshoe bay near Rosscarbery in County Cork. It is quite popular for surfing and has reasonably consistent surf all year round.

Blue Flag Claycastle Beach is a gently sandy beach with a narrow area of marsh/dunes (part of Ballyvergan Marsh). Ballyvergan Marsh is located to the west of the beach.

Other Monitored Water - Oysterhaven Beach is located in Ballinaclashet Creek approximately 6 km east of Kinsale, & 3.3 km south west of Nohaval, in Co. Cork.

Identified Bathing Water Coolmaine beach is located south of Kilbrittain village. It is a sandy beach with sand dunes behind the beach separating the beach and the car park.

Blue Flag Garrylucas, White Strand is a sandy beach with sand dunes in part.  It is located beside the R604 road and adjacent to Kilcolman Marsh and the Old Head of Kinsale and within a short distance of Ballinspittle by car.

Blue Flag Garretstown is a sandy beach. It is located on the R604 and adjacent to Kilcolman Marsh and The Old Head of Kinsale and within a short distance of Ballinspittle village by car. Public car parking, toilet facilities and lifebuoys are provided at the beach.

Blue Flag and Green Coast Beach Fountainstown beach is located on the South Cork coast, west of the entrance to Cork Harbour and on the northern side of Ringabella Bay.
