Cork County Council Announces Africa Day Programme

Cork County Council has announced its Africa Day programme, which will take place in the week leading up to Africa Day on Sunday 25th May. A range of free events and activities are planned in libraries and theatres across the county.

2025 Cruise Season Begins in Kinsale

Cork County Council has welcomed the first of 24 cruise liners to its harbours for the 2025 season. Le Bellot made its inaugural visit to Kinsale Harbour with 184 passengers and 118 crew members onboard on Thursday, May 8th.

Mar chuid de Chruinniú na nÓg 2025, tá Seirbhís Leabharlainne agus Ealaíon Chomhairle Contae Chorcaí le mianta cruthaitheacha a bhronnadh ar dhaoine óga sa chontae agus iad a chur ar an mbóthar le gairm mar chumadóirí amhrán, 
ealaíontóirí, filí agus taibheoirí a bhaint amach. Is ar an 7 Meitheamh a bheidh Lá Náisiúnta na Cruthaitheachta do dhaoine óga ar siúl agus beidh os cionn 30 imeacht á reáchtáil i leabharlanna agus scoileanna i gcontae Chorcaí.

Cork County Council to Grant Creative Wishes for National Day of Creativity for Young People

Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service will grant creative wishes to young people in the county next month helping them to become songwriters, artists, poets and performers as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2025. The National Day of Creativity for young people takes place on Saturday the 7th of June with over 30 events in County Cork libraries and schools.

Bealtaine Festival 2025

Bealtaine is the national celebration of arts and creativity as we age, which takes place each May. Cork County Council has launched its Bealtaine programme, featuring a selection of free events in libraries across the county. This programme is supported by the Arts Council and Creative Ireland.

Nestled in the South West of Ireland between Ireland’s Ancient East and the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, Cork is Ireland’s largest county. Known as ‘Ireland’s Maritime Haven’, Cork has over 1,000km of coastline and the world’s second largest natural harbour. It has many internationally renowned visitor attractions such as Mizen Head Footbridge, Spike Island, The Jameson Experience, Fota Wildlife Park, Charles Fort and Doneraile Estate to name but a few. There are 8 islands in West Cork, 7 of which are inhabited and each with their own unique culture and history.
