Cork County Council’s Library and Arts Service has announced a new award supporting established visual artists. The LHQ Impact Award will provide an artist with a financial bursary and the opportunity for a solo exhibition at LHQ Gallery, the Council’s dedicated exhibition space.

The award aims to celebrate the achievements of an established or mid-career artist based in County Cork. The award will financially support the artist to create a new body of work along with the opportunity to exhibit at LHQ Gallery. Successful applicants will receive a solo exhibition at LHQ Gallery in 2026 or 2027 with a fee of up to €5,000 and a production budget of up to €3,000.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll said,

We have a wealth of talent in the county and this award will celebrate our contemporary artists, painters, sculptors, and other working in a visual medium. We are looking forward to seeing the outcomes at LHQ Gallery.
