Cork County Council Update on Status Yellow Snow/Ice Warning

Cork County Council is urging motorists to take extreme care on the roads as widespread frost and ice is forecast for the county.

A Met Éireann Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning remains in place until 10.00 on Wednesday morning (20th of November) and will be in force again from 8.00pm on Wednesday evening. In addition, a Status Yellow Snow/Ice Warning has been issued for Cork from 4.00am on Thursday morning until 12 midday on Thursday.

Cork County Council began treating all Priority 1 and Priority 2 routes on Tuesday evening in accordance with its Winter Service Plan and will be closely monitoring conditions locally throughout the cold spell.

Salt and grit supplies have been checked and replenished across the county with gritting trucks ready for deployment when required.
