The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins and the Chief Executive of Cork County Council Tim Lucey have warmly congratulated all the volunteers and tidy towns champions who have make Cork County one of the biggest winners at this year’s Tidy Towns event.

Bandon Library Launches ‘My Open Library’ Out of Hours Service

Bandon Library has launched a new addition to its service that will enable borrowers to access the library outside of the usual hours of operation.  ‘My Open Library’ offers extended opening hours to library members on a self-service basis outside of normal opening hours, seven days per week, from 8:00am to 10:00pm, 365 days per year.

Contract Signing to deliver Mallow Pool Extension and Upgrade

Deputy Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Deirdre O’Brien has welcomed the announcement that Cork County Council has appointed JODA Engineering to lead a Multidisciplinary Design Team who will provide the necessary expertise to prepare a full and comprehensive Final Design, Tender, Construction and Certification Complete for the proposed Mallow Pool Extension and Upgrade at New Road, Mallow, Co. Cork.

The new homes, delivered by the Land Development Agency (LDA) are located in Clonmore, Ballyviniter, Mallow, Co Cork, in a joint project with Cork County Council which will manage the application process with prospective buyers and the well-known developers the O’Flynn Group.

Villages Receive €68,750 Investment in Macroom Municipal District

The village of Clondrohid has welcomed significant investment under Cork County Council’s Village Enhancement Fund. Improvement works valued at €50,750 have been completed as part of the Macroom Municipal District 2021 Programme, with a further €18,000 dedicated towards speed safety measures in villages across the district.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals to transform our world, adopted by all 193 members of the United Nations. Their overall objective is to create a better world, and a better life for all, by 2030. The goals have a strong focus on the environment throughout.
