Cork County Council is inviting members of the public to have their say on early-stage plans for two new greenway projects in Cork County.  Public consultations for both the Skibbereen sections of the West Cork Greenway and the Cork to Kinsale Greenway are now open for submissions.

Cork County Council is inviting applications from community and voluntary groups for funding under the new Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) and Women’s Groups Fund 2024. 

Cork County Council and Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre are delighted to announce a partnership residency for artists Patsy Tyrrell & Fiona Boniwell. Taking place in April and May 2024, this partnered residency supports artists seeking opportunities to research and develop their practice, and engage with Uillinn, local and diverse communities and the public. The award includes a studio space for 4 weeks at Uillinn and a stipend of €2,500 each. Both residencies are funded by the Cork County Council Arts Service.

In response to a disturbing increase in road fatalities nationally in 2023, Cork County Council, in collaboration with An Garda Siochana and Cork GAA, has launched a poster-based road safety campaign. The campaign aims to appeal to road users to exercise caution and promote shared responsibility on the roads.

The conference responds to the alarming statistic that more than one-quarter of the global food production is wasted, contributing significantly to climate change, with food loss and waste responsible for 8-10% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Cork County Council has announced funding to the value of over €1.8million to support local communities in 2024. This is the Council’s tenth year providing the Community Fund Scheme which has assisted in delivering a host of valuable community initiatives right across Cork County every year.
