Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-1117 Rathcoole Village, Co Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 10:00hrs on Monday 30th June 2025 to 15:00hrs on Saturday 5th July 2025 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Upgrade and repair of Railway Infrastructure.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling North (from Sandpit direction) towards Rathcoole Village shall divert right, at the grotto, onto the L-5216. Continue on the L-5216 to T-junction, at the T-junction turn left onto the L-5215. Continue on the L-5215 to T-junction, at the T-junction turn left onto the L-1120. Continue on the L-1120 to Rathcoole village and turn left to rejoin the L-1117, signposted Rathcoole.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00 hours on Monday 30th of June 2025 to 17:00 hours on Friday 4th of July 2025 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate construction of a cattle underpass.
Alternative Routes
Traffic intending to access the L-8105-0 at Lislevane Village shall divert west along L-4018-61, turn right at School House Cross onto L-4021-25, turn right at Aghawadda Cross Roads onto L-8105-0, follow the road to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
The stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained outside of the works site where possible.

North-west (Banteer) bound traffic from Blarney / Cork on R-579-489 turn right onto the R-619-179 at Crean’s Cross, continue north on R-619 via Donoughmore, Bweeng and Drommahane to Junction with R-621-0 at Newberry, Mallow. Turn left to R-621-0 and continue to Junction with N-72-348. Turn left to N-72-348 and continue west, returning to R-579 at Ballymaquirke Roundabout, Banteer, Co.Cork.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

North-west (Ballyclogh) bound traffic from Mallow should remain on the N-72 Navigation Road, Westbound, turn right onto the L-1206-0, continue to Forge Cross and turn right to L-1203-30 Ballyclogh Village, Co. Cork.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
The works associated with this closure will take approx. 1 week to be completed and these works will be undertaken within the above timeframe.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

To facilitate construction of an Overpass as part of the M28 Scheme.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling in an Easterly Direction on the L-6518 wishing to access locations North of the road closure should proceed in an Easterly Direction to the junction of the L-6517-0 (Loughbeg Road). They should turn left and head in a Northerly direction to the junction of the N28 and turn left. They should then turn left on to the Old Post Office Road. Traffic travelling on the N28 wishing to access locations south of the closed section of road should utilize this diversion in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
