Temporary Closing of Public Roads
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-3414-41 New Road, Macroom, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 30th June 2025 to 16:00hrs on Friday 25th July 2025 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate traffic calming works, new footpaths, road lining and surface water drainage works as part of the St. Joseph’s Safe Routes to School Project.
Alternative Routes
Westbound Non-HGV Traffic: Take the L-9308 Northbound to South Square, follow the R-618 East to junction with L-9301 Chapel Hill. Take the L-9301 South onto Chapel Hill.
This route works in reverse for Eastbound Non-HGV traffic.
Westbound HGV Traffic: Take the L-3430-0 South to the R-584. Follow the R-584 East to Hartnett’s Cross. Follow the R-618 West to the junction with the L-9301 at Chapel Hill. The route works in reverse for Eastbound HGV traffic.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-52-2025, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 27th May 2025. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
