Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure - Midleton Town, Co Cork

  • Mill Road & Riverside Way North – R-626-0, L-3631-0, R-907-0
  • Riverside Way North – L-3631-0
  • Riverside Way North & Church Lane – L-3631-0, L-3631-1
  • Riverside Way South & Church Lane – L-3631-0, L-3631-1

(These roads will be closed on different dates due to the phased nature of the works).

Period of Proposed Closure

From 19:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs (Nightly Closure) from Monday 23rd June 2025 to Friday 19th September 2025. (No weekend works).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Úisce Éireann to carry out relining works on the existing foul water infrastructure in the Midleton area.

Alternative Routes

  • R626 Mill Road, Midleton – Via R907-0 Cork Road, L-7708-0 Kennel Road Knockgriffin, L-3288-1 Relief Road rejoining R626-0 Mill Road.
  • L 3631-0 Riversideway, Midleton - Via R907-0 Main St. Midleton & L-3621-0 Broderick St.
  • L3631-1 Church Lane, Midleton – Via R907-0 Main St. Midleton & L-3621-0 Broderick St.

Additional Information:

  • Mill Road & Riverside Way North, Midleton Co. Cork. Midleton Gyratory roundabout lane closure. Riverside Way North and Mill Road to be one way system with cars travelling outbound only during daytime hours.
  • Riverside Way North, Midleton Co. Cork. Will be one way system with cars travelling outbound only during daytime hours.
  • Riverside Way North & Church Lane, Midleton Co. Cork. Will be one way system with cars travelling outbound only during daytime hours.
  • Riverside way South & Church Lane, Midleton Co. Cork. Will be one way system with cars travelling outbound only during daytime hours.
  • Bailick Road lane closure on inbound lane.
  • HGV’s and buses to be diverted away from Midleton Gyratory Roundabout while closures are in effect in the area.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-43-2025, not later than 5pm on Friday, 30th May, 2025.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
