Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L5783-0 (Section of), Cronavan, Bartlemy, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 28th July 2025 to 17:00hrs on Friday 1st August 2025 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate the installation of a cattle underpass.
Alternative Routes
For traffic heading South, detour East via the L-1541-11 and South via the R-626-177 and West via the L-5783-18.
The stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Alternative Routes
From Bantry head east along R586 into Drimoleague. Take right onto R593 and head south until meeting junction with R594.
From Skibbereen head north along R593 into Drimoleague. Take left onto R586 and head west until meeting junction with R594.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Period of Proposed Closure
From 7:00hrs to 20:00hrs (Daily Closure) from Monday 14th July 2025 to Monday 28th July 2025. (weather permitting)
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate: Road Strengthening and Resurfacing.
Alternative Routes
From Phale/Ballineen side, traffic travel west along the L4632 to Ballinacarriga and turn left L4633 and continue south L4635 to junction with R599-109. At junction continue until junction with L4631-84, keep left, north to Rossmore Village, Kilmeen and to Currabeg.
The stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Vehicles travelling east will turn left onto Cork St, turn right onto Chairmans Lane, continue left on Chairman’s Lane & then take a right onto the R605.
Vehicles travelling west will continue onto Church Square, turn left onto Abbey Lane, continue down Blindgate St, turn left onto Rampart Lane, veer left onto Convent Hill, turn right onto Higher O’ Connell St, turn left onto Dennis Quay & turn left onto the R605.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
