Temporary Closing of Public Roads
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
Section of R628-89, Aghern, Co.Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs to 18.00hrs (Daily Closure) on Monday 30th June 2025 to Friday 1st August 2025.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing
Alternative Routes
From Conna side, use L-1516, onwards to L1521, onwards to L-1520, onwards to L-1519 which will return to R-628. Detour in reverse when travelling in opposite direction.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-61-2025, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 4th June 2025. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

From Glenville (Southern side), use L-29563, onwards to L-6950, onwards to L-1219, which will return to L 1504. Detour in reverse when travelling in opposite direction.

From 07.00hrs to 20.00hrs (Daily Closure) from Wednesday 9th July 2025 to Wednesday 30th July 2025.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing.
Alternative Routes
Northbound Traffic: Follow the R-585 East to its junction with the L-4603. Follow this road north to Tarelton. Take the L-4604 west to rejoin the R-587 at Kilmichael.
The same diversion applies in reverse for southbound traffic.
Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.
