Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-4712-0 Ardnageehy, Bantry, Co. Cork

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08:00hrs on Monday 26th February 2024 to 18:00hrs on Friday 29th March 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Installation of a New Wastewater Main..

Alternative Routes

From the east side of the road closure: Continue into Bantry Town on the L-4711. Turn left onto N71 (Glengarriff Road), towards the Town Square. Turn left onto New Street and onto Bridge Street (L-4754). Continue onto Chapel Street and School Road (L-4752). Finally continue out on the L-4709 towards Ardnageehy. End of diversion at the junction with the L-4712. 

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-2-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 24th January 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
