Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L29585, Ballynabortagh Lyre Carrignavar Co Cork.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 8.00hrs on Monday 25th March 2024 to 17.00hrs on Friday 29th March 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the construction of a cattle underpass.

Alternative Routes

At the junction of the L29585 and the L2958 (the Glenville-Carrignavar Road) head south for approximately 100m and turn right towards Carrignavar Village. Turn right in Carrignavar village and head north for approximately 1.5km. Take the right at Ardnalaghta Cross (the old Dairygold stores). Continue north for approximately 1km and turn right at the next crossroads back towards Lyre / Ballynabortagh.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-16-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Thursday 15th February 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
