Temporary Closing of Public Roads

ROADS ACT, 1993
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

R-585, Kealkill, Bantry, Co. Cork.  From the east side of Kealkill Village to the waterworks on the eastern side of Kealkill.

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs (Daily Closure) on Monday 8th April 2024 to Friday 31st May 2024.

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Installation of a New Watermain.

Alternative Routes

From Kealkill Village, continue north eastwards on the R-584 towards Ballingeary. At Ballingeary, continue on the R-584 through Inchigeelagh to Toonsbridge. At Toonsbridge, turn right onto the R-587 to Shanlaragh/ R-585 junction. Turn right onto R-585 and proceed towards Kealkill. When travelling in the opposite direction, follow the above directions, in reverse.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-24 -2024, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 5th March 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
