Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-7659-0 Knocknamadderee, Cloyne, Co. Cork – part of – from 3 Cross Roads Knocknamadderee, Cloyne (R-629, L-7659) to 3 Cross Roads, Knocknamadderee at Kilva Waterworks (L-7659, L-76592).
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Tuesday 4th June 2024 to 18:00hrs on Friday 7th June 2024 (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate completion of a water connection to a new development by Uisce Eireann.
Alternative Routes
Divert on the L-7659-0 to R630 southbound, onwards to Bawnard Crossroads, turning right onto L-3629-0 Downey’s Road forward to Bowles Gate crossroads at junction of L-3629-0 and R629 and onwards to L-7659-0 at Knocknamadderee.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-46-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 30th April 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure
L-1102 Keale South, Derrinagree, Mallow, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 17th June 2024 to 17:00hrs on Friday 21st June 2024. (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate the construction of a Cattle Underpass.
Alternative Routes
Traffic Travelling on the R583 from Millstreet, no turn left onto the L-1102 so traffic shall continue on the R583 towards Mallow. Continue on the R583 to the N72 at the Sandpit House Bar and turn left onto the N72 signposted Rathmore/Killarney.
Continue on the N72 travelling through Clonbannin Cross and onto Forge Cross. At Forge Cross turn left onto the L-1102 signposted Derrinagee/Millstreet. Continue on the L-1102 through Derrinagree Village to access the L-1102 at Keale North.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

R-576 Rockchapel Village, Rockchapel, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 12:00hrs to 21:00hrs (Daily Closure) on Sunday 9th June 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Music Festival Event.
Alternative Routes
Traffic traveling From Newmarket to Rockchapel Divert left at Coolagh Bridge onto the R578 signposted Ballydesmond. Continue on R578 until Glash Bridge and turn right onto L-1012 signposted Abbeyfeale. Continue on the L-1012/L-1003 to R576 at Tado’s Cross and turn right for Rockchapel and left for travelling onto Kerry/Limerick.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
