Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
R628-120 Main Street, Conna, Co. Cork – Section of R628-120 between Conna Hill and Castle Cross.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 12:00hrs to 23:59hrs (Daily Closure) on Sunday 4th August 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate a Street Festival.
Alternative Routes
For traffic westbound on the R628 in Tallow, detour straight ahead in Tallow Village, Co. Waterford on the R634 over Tallow bridge to N72, detour left onto the N72. At Daly’s Cross, detour south via the L1532-0 and continue on this road into Conna village via Conna Bridge.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
Objections
Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-28-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 8th May 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

R-880-0 Wolfe Tone Street, R-880-0 Ashe Street, R-880-0 Pearse Street, L-4036-1 Astna Street, L-4039-0 Rossa Street, L-4039-0 Connolly Street, Clonakilty, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs to 22:00hrs (Daily Closure) on Saturday 15th June 2024.
Closure Varies for different streets.
R-880-0 Wolfe Tone Street – From 11:00hrs to 18:00hrs.
R-880-0 Ashe Street, L-4036-1 Astna Street, L-4039-0 Rossa Street – From 07:00hrs to 18:00hrs.
R-880-0 Pearse Street – From 07:00hrs to 19:30hrs.
L-4039-0 Connolly Street – From 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Clonakilty Street Carnival.
Alternative Routes
The alternative route to West Cork from the east will be via N71 Bypass.
The alternative route to Emmet Square from the east will be via N71 Bypass and Gaol Road (L-4043-0).
The alternative route to Kent Street (L-4041-0) and Kent Street Car Park from the east will be via N71 Bypass and Connolly Street (L-4039-0).
Access to the town centre from the west via Western Road, Oliver Plunkett Street, Bridge Street or alternatively N71 Bypass and Gaol Road (L-4043-0) or Connolly Street (L-4039-0).
Alternative route from Kent Street to the N71 Bypass between 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs will be via Rossa Street (L-4039-0) and left on to Pearse Street.
Alternative route from the N71 Bypass to Kent Street/Rossa Street between 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs will be via Gaol Road (L-4043-0) and Emmet Square.
