Temporary Closing of Public Roads

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-7629-0 Roxborough, Midleton, Co. Cork. (known locally as The Shanty Path).

Period of Proposed Closure 

From 06:00 on Monday 21st October 2024 to 18:00 on Friday 20th December 2024 (24hr Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the installation of ducting as part of the Celtic Interconnector Project.

Alternative Routes

From 3 Crossroads Churchtown near Graveyard (L-3627, L-7629) westbound traffic shall continue via the N25 onwards to R-907-0 Junction with N25 at Park South. Continue via R-907-0 to Main St. Midleton turning onto R-627-0 Connolly St. and onwards to 3 Crossroads West of Westpark House (R-627, L-7628) rejoining the L-7629-0 at 4 Crossroads in Killeagh townland.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Local Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Objections

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-130-2024, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 25th September 2024.  Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
